Western Australia needs skills!
The skills shortage across resource and construction industries is continuing to worsen, with Western Australia alone needing to fund an extra 33 000 skilled workers by the end of 2012.
The Chamber of Minerals and Energy have compiled a report on the growth outlook for the state, which found that if these positions aren’t filled, it could have dire consequences for the many projects that have commenced across the state. The projects include Gorgon, Pluto and BHP Billiton’s Pilbara expansion, with many roles being predicted to be on a “fly in, fly out basis”.
Applicants who have a skill listed on the Western Australian Skilled Migration Occupation List (WASMOL) may be eligible to apply for Western Australian State Sponsorship.
